Mercurial Circle A T-Shirt
I made the design for this shirt after reading about the elements of logo design in the book Logo Modernism and reading about the history of design as a utility of social movements in the book The Design of Dissent.
After reading these books, I sought to try and create a simple design which would catch the eyes of other people if put on a garment, and which could reliably start a conversation. The result was a combination of the Anarchist Circle A symbol, the female gender symbol, and the horns of the Mercury zodiac symbol. The symbol itself represents support for the free expression of your gender and sexuality without any societal structures funneling you into a certain identity.
The design is screen printed onto a white T-Shirt.
Tire Tracks T-Shirt
This shirt was one of my first ventures into clothing design. I had the idea that to counter the generally banal nature of T-Shirt design, I could create a design that had a third dimension to it, and took on a novelty as a result of the way I printed it. The print going over the collar and shoulder seam is an attempt to break the fourth wall of shirt design.
The design itself is a tire track, printed to look like the wearer of the shirt was run over. I printed the tire by taking a tire and rolling fabric paint on the tread. Then, I rolled the painted section over the shirt and lightly splattered paint on the shirt.
Cheese Pull Button Up (draft)
This shirt is still a work in progress as I experiment with ways of making the cuts more exact using laser cutting, and making the holes come together to look more like cheese being pulled.
The shirt itself is meant to look like Mozzarella cheese being pulled apart.
Untitled Dress (draft)
This dress was my final project for my draping class at OTIS College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. This is a complete draft in muslin, a cheap and easy to use fabric, and the pattern can be put together in normal fabric.
